This problem occurs when you try to add an image of an acquired CD-ROM to an EnCase® case file. When you select the .E01 file to add and hit "Add", you will see the following error message:

EnCase® cannot interpret the UDF format

Solution? You need to disable the UDF file system. Go to the Start button and click on "Run...". Type in "msconfig" and hit <RETURN>. You will see the following screen.

Hit the Advanced... button. You will see the following screen.

Check in the box "Disable UDF file system" and hit OK and OK. Reboot your computer and EnCase® will work fine.
