EnCase® Lab Edition
EnCase Lab Edition is Guidance Software's digital evidence collaboration tool. EnCase
evidence is centrally stored, where investigators can access it via their network or web
browser, to view, search, bookmark, and report on findings.
Simple checkmarks are all that is needed to denote relevant data. Investigators do not
need to know EnCase in order to use the EnCase Lab.
This one of a kind collaboration tool will give you the ability to spread the work load, exchange
thoughts and ideas, and evaluate multiple pieces of evidence by several investigators at one
time. A moderator/case developer will assign lists of tasks and permissions. Investigators
will see only the files, notes, or perhaps sensitive data that have been assigned to them.
The processing power is concentrated on the server, so a lab with a limited budget, can
utilize existing workstations and not have to upgrade them to a forensic examiners level of
capabilities in order to use the product.
An EnCase Forensic unit can integrate with EnCase Lab Edition. The forensic expert will
still be able to take advantage of the power of EnCase to provide additional depth to an
investigation.
EnCase Lab Edition is a forensics tool, an EnCase review platform, and a workflow
management system all in one.
New to digital evidence collection:
The EnCase Lab Edition is your opportunity to get started in digital evidence collection. You
can start with one person that understands how to collect and cull data, and then feed that
evidence to the rest of the team.
EnCase User
Now is your chance to get some help getting through the growing mountain of evidence. The
EnCase Lab Edition will give you the ability to hand over evidence to your case developers,
tactical experts, and/or litigation support. This means your DA or your Case investigator can
see exactly where they are with the evidence and add their own notes.
